Mo. the turkey capitol of the US !
Conservation Dept. reports 30,000 taken the first day April 19th. Lord only knows how many by now ! So why does alabama or Miss. get so much press ! The Mo. totals at the end of the season beat them every time.

WE HAVE ALOT OF TURKEYS IN THE SHOW ME STATE. IT IS FUNNY I TALK TO THE OLD TIMEERS AND THEY WHEN THEY WERE GROWING UP YOU HARDLY SEEN THEM OUT. IT IS HARD TO BELIEVE.

best keep this info on the down low. don't want a bunch of outsiders taking our birds. my son shot a 20.5 lb tom with a 9 in beard and 1 in spurs in the first 30 min of the youth season. i took a bearded hen that scores better than 3rd in the state according the the nwtf. it has an 8 inch beard. this was on the ground within 30 min of the start of season on the first day of the season. so the less the outside world knows how good we have it in mo, the better.
