I live in Brownstown, actually north of town. I hunt on the kaskaskia river mainly. I hunt down your way also. We put in at cox bridge just west of vernon. we like to hit the public ground a little, gives my stands a rest.

I'm from Urbana, I bowhunt Vermillion,Champaign and Brown Counties.
I'm originally from Escondido California then moved to Hawaii and then to Illinois. I didn't start Bowhunting until I moved to Illinois, figured I am living in the best state in the USA to Bowhunt .... So what the heck.[8D]

Lady Forge,
I am planning on coming back to Illinois in about a year and a half. I plan on coming back for good and spending at least three years in Champaign @ UofI. How difficult is it to find a place to hunt in that area. I've finally secured enough places to go in Alabama and Tennessee, but don't think I will be able to afford the expense and/or time of going out of state when I am back in school. Every time I've been in and around U of I, I can't remember seeing a single stand of trees. where do you go? private or public? what is around? thanks for any thoughts!

Spent many a day fishing, bowfishing, hunting, or sometimes just shooting the breeze at Cox Bridge. I have even seen a few fools climb to the top of that thing an dive into the river. This area is not known for producing many Jeopardy champions, but is a nice quiet are to live, hunt and fish!

Im from Mahomet, just a few minutes from Champaign. I bowhunt in Vermillion county, and hunt with my Muzzleloader and Handgun in Crawford county. I may be going to Pope county with some friends this year for firearms season. I also travel to Missouri every year and hunt some private land.
