RE: Using salt blocks in Illinois
It is kind of stupid to have a statewide ban on feeding deer in IL, when our neighbor to the north has alot of CWD cases but they allowed baiting still. I can see them drawing a line across the state, and saying no feeding north of this line. I believe in being careful, but I think that they jumped the gun, and there should be exceptions to the rule.
Where I work, there is no hunting, but the people used to love to come feed the deer every night. It was so popular that a nearby refinery allowed a group to create a deer park for people to come there to feed and watch the deer. They put out 4 feeders, but had to remove them when the law was created. These are fenced in deer. I am sure that there are ways to get in and out of the fences, but not many. |
RE: Using salt blocks in Illinois
Fenced in or not, the deer can still get CWD, it happens when other animals contact the feed, but IL, wants to get rid of the disease, if WI did not allow baiting there would be a mass number of people protesting against the decision, the only thing they are doing is killing the deer in mass numbers!

RE: Using salt blocks in Illinois
but after we are cleard of CWD then you will be able to do it! I closed my wallet, left the merchandise on his counter, walked out of his shop, and haven't been back since. RE: Using salt blocks in Illinois
Has any new cases of CWD been found since some of the shotgun season deer were tested?
