JZarr; Sonds like it starting to warm up for the rut there, thats a shame about you losing all those photo' s in your camera.
I went out to my stand over a big draw that funnels to a thicket and bedding bottom last nigght. I wasnt there 30 min when a doe with 2 fawns come off the ridge and into the bedding bottom and the doe proceeds to run off one of the fawns, must of been a button buck.
I heard a loud grunt in the thicket and tried to call him in but he never appeared
At sunset I looked up the draw and there was a doe and then another deer a small very dark coated button buck then another doe with a doe fawn and a button buck.
They all were feeding on acorns in the draw and then I heard the smallest crunch of leaves slightly behind and to the left of me and I ever so slowly turned my head and there was the cutest little button buck standing on the ridge not 8 or 10 yards from me , he stared at the group of deer for a while and they stared back at him and then he decided to join them and trotted down to join them. Upon him joining them all the fawns came to greet him but the does just ignored them and kept on feeding. The smallest button of the bunch , the dark coated one goes to greet the new button and then I almost busted out laughing
The dark coated smallest button bristles up his coat and lowers his head slightly and starts to do the stifflegged kinda side ways walk over to the new button. He was posturing just like a big ole buck. When he gets to the new button he stands on his hind legs and starts whacking the new button with his front legs and does it twice and the new button trotted a few feet away so the small dark coated button then proceeds to start rubbing a small sapling and the little bugger was just really trying to tear it up.... but he had nothing to tear it up with[
]
I think it was the funniest thing I have ever seen in the woods[&:]
That was one aggressive little button buck, what a gas[&:]Just tto Funny!!!!!!!
Well they all ended up from 10 yards from me and the does stayed at 20 yards from me, I was hoping they would lure a buck up the draw to me but no such luck.
Then they wouldnt leave, I was stuck in the dark up my tree making owl calls, crow calls , coyote calls and they wouldnt leave, it was 30 to 40 min after dark so I finnaly tore off a big piece of bark and threw it and then they left. FINALLY.

Saw 11 deer yesterday including the biggest deer I' ve ever seen. Gonna fight the crowd tomorrow and hunt anyway. Weekends on public land suck, but things are getting too good to be at home.
Hey lady forge, do ya think I should take my wife' s urine with me? She finally agreed to give me a sample.

Okay - been out virtually every morning this week. Bunch of does every time out, and a few small bucks. Got close to a bruiser this morning, but he started playing the waiting game with me and eventually he won. [:' (]
Leaving for out west in a few minutes. My dad' s been out there all day and said the bucks are rutting like crazy. He got close to a big 5x4 this morning. Same one he glassed last Sunday morning. As well as seeing another 150 class 10 pt and the same 140 class 9 pt we' ve seen multiple times. Hopefully I' ll come back with stories for the board, meat for the freezer, and antlers for the wall.
Good luck everyone. This is gonna be the weekend!

It was really hot down south,miid 80' s the whole time
5 days of hunting seen 5 in range mostly small bucks. I took this 9 pt on a farm that we have alot of poachers on I would have normaly let him walk anywhere else, I figured I better take him before someone else did, my hunting partner took a nice 8pt, cant wait untill the 18th to take #2

philbert8; Dont Know? What conditions was it collected under? Was she ovulating at the time of collection? Was it gathered as human scent free as possible, although if you are on heavely hunted public land I think the deer are maybe somewhat accustomed to coming in contact with human scent, just my 2 cents.
If you feel that it is worth trying now then do it, but with the rut kicking in do you really want to chance it. I prefer to experiment with it in the early prerut and not at my best stands, I havent become 100% convinced as to wether it is a benifet or deturant to bucks yet, I decided to experiment with this for 2 years and then hopefully the results will bear the answer.
triton-tj;
Congrats on the fine buck[8D]
Looks like I may have to sit out the rut this year[X(]

Philbert8; You might want to look at it this way also, If you are successful in tagging out during the rut on some nice Big Buck then that would leave you the second rut to experiment with it, and not have to much to lose if the results are not favorable.

Last weekend I counted 7 bucks about 40-50 yds from my stand. One having a huge rack. So today I took my climbing stand out and moved close to the area I was seeing all the bucks. I had one small 8 pointer all around me, I had a easy shot but elected to pass on him and wait for one of the big boys to come by. Unfortunatly they never came. Im going to Missouri next Friday to hunt so it will be awhile before I bowhunt again. But I think I found a good spot
