Default Illinois dnr fails in revising deer season!!!

Unbelievable the DNR does nothing to help its deer herd!!! No changes to late winter deer season to counties which were heavily hit by EHD. ILLINOIS is all about the cash, because it needs to feed the high number of public aid recipients! The once great state to hunt deer is no more.... Director of the IDNR is doing a great job at ruining this states deer herd!

I feel your pain! The Pa Game Commission ran our Deer herd into the ground. The Hunters are part of the problem too. Some Hunters just like to KILL! They supply the tags and the KILLERS keep Killing. How many Deer does one Man need to shoot. I hunted your Great State many times and seen some Great Bucks. Its sad to hear whats going down out there! Sorry ! Good Luck !

I can't see hunting in IL being big, big business. Yes the majority of outfitters (guides) are crying but remember it was the outfitters they sold off the bucks in the areas they offer. If there is one thing I can't stand it is someone who that is supposed to be an educated mature adult acting like a little entitlement brat.

On the other side of this there is the population and success as viewed by general hunters which IMO ain't bad. I ignore the big number of permits "issued" bc a lot of them are "just in case" permits hunters buy as surplus and will more than likely not be used. So I view the 650,000 deer permits sold as more of a 400-450,000 number. With success at 180,000 that ain't a bad success ratio.

Default deer Hunting

I Was looking at the overall big picture not only the revenue the state brings in from shotgun and archery tags but also the money people spend on everything related to deer hunting.Add it all up and your talking millions. So if its not big bussiness i don know what you would call it
