First Illinois Bow Hunt
Well we headed out to Illinois from Michigan for the first time on Nov.3rd, I had obtained the rights to bow hunt on a small piece of property and we did not know what to expect. Fortunately the property had some farm fields surrounding it with a nice creek bottom that border the south property line. We spent the first day hanging stands and the next few days relocating them. We hunted for a week and after all was said and done we saw 102 deer and 57 of them where bucks, I personally saw 27 with only two that where repeats. We ended up harvesting 1 doe and 2 10 pts. We where invited to come back next year and I cannot wait, with the poor crops this year and the 3 days of 70 degree weather I could not imagine how good the hunting would be next year. Also we are going to go a few days later next year so we can catch the rut better. Here is a pic of one of the bucks we harvested I cannot upload the second pic.

Sorry have been out of town and very busy but we where in Crawford county. Everyone around said that EHD and CWD had hit the area kind of hard but we must have been lucky. I know to the north of us my buddy found two dead bucks in his pond in early October. Hope next year is a good weather year and there is no drought. Only time will tell. Good Luck!!!
