Does anyone know if you have to go through a lottery to obtain a non-resident tag for Iowa shotgun season. I thought that you could be assured a doe tag and only needed to enter a lottery for a buck tag, but I was told that this is not the case. I have family that would like to hunt, but cannot make plans unless we can be sure that they can get tags.

They issue so many non resident antlerless tags per county, check the dnr website to see how many tags are left per county. The antlerless tags are otc, but an either sex tag is a draw
