Kansas walk in areas

Couple things to keep in mind based on my observations. The program is not much more than a guide for outfitters to use to ID landowners with best deer habitat. Find a good new property and it will be out of the program the next year, leased by an outfitter. Beware pheasant hunters. They pound that land and big bucks get pushed off immediately. Because you locate good sign means nothing if it's after the bird opener.

Scouting is the key. Lots of guides leasing up the country, but they don't own the deer or can keep it on their leased properiety. Been hunting the walkins for years, and the deer are there just have to scout and be there when they are. Out west can turn good results. As far as bird hunters they always help by getting them moving which can take away the guide outfits advantage.
