There is a movement to create a Lake Michigan Duck Season in Wisconsin and we need your help.
TGhe proposed season is Oct 15 to Dec 15 but I would like to see a later opener.

Subject: Lake Michigan Duck Hunting Zone
Dear Lake Michigan Duck Hunter:
The political process is underway to determine whether during the next 5 years we will have a Lake Michigan Duck Hunting zone. We have all been fighting for this for at least 10 years. We can be sure that those who have other interests will do all they can to prevent our success. Therefore, we need to get our voices heard by emailing or writing to the DNR to express our views. Your message can be simple and direct. I am attaching a model letter for your reference. In addition, get as many of your hunting companions as possible to also contact the DNR by email ([email protected]) or letter. The mailing address is:
James Christopoulos
Assistant Migratory Game Bird Ecologist
Bureau of Wildlife Management
Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources
101 S. Webster Street, P. O. Box 7921
Madison, WI 53707-7921
Phone: (608) 261-6458
Fax: (608) 267-7857
Sample letter to Mr. Christopoulos:
Dear James:
I have been a long-time duck hunter on Wisconsin’s East Coast. The big water, sea ducks, divers and weather makes for an incredible duck hunting experience.
I strongly support the creation of a new Lake Michigan Duck hunting zone. For the first year, I would also support an October 15 opening for Lake Michigan. We should not lose the opportunity to create this new duck hunting opportunity.
