Default RE: First right of refusal HELP!

If you have a legal claim to first right of refusal, then why do you need anything stating that the property is critical?

If you have dibbs on it and you want it, it' s your' s. You don' t need a good reason other than you want it. Talk to a real estate lawyer and if you have a good claim then go get your land.

I would recommend you contact Jeff Haubrich. He is active on the Minn DNR community forums and is an attorney who is a big time hunter. I dont have any contact info other than that. He is from SW Minn, if I ' member correctly. Marshall maybe.

Pat, that lawyer must be some kind of idiot like I' ve never seen. If you have first rights to the land, it shouldn' t have to be critical to deer hunting for you to have it. If you' ve the right to it then it' s your' s deer or no deer.

Okay you bought 236 acres from this guy and he had another 30 acres. Did part of the agreement say that he would give you first chance to buy the other part? From my understanding of it is if owned by a private owner and that person can sell the land to anyone they choose, but what I don' t understand is that he wouldn' t naturally ask you first to buy the adjoining land. Now if it wasn' t in your contract to have the option to buy the other parcel, The owner has the right to sell it to anybody he wishes, like it or not. Verbal agreement doesn' t mean squat. Am I wrong assuming this? And don' t get nasty like you did with Irish,I' m just trying to help!!
