Very little activity around west central. DNR cut the tags way down from last year (from intensive harvest to lottery) so I didn't expect to see as many as I have in years past.

The Northern part of the state you can use Rifle. Souhern part is shotgun or ML only.

I think the bucks are really starting to lock down with the does, I saw a nice 8 with 4 does the other night. Deer sightings are really starting to drop though, I think they have all moved into the corn

I'm hunting up near Sandstone. I have been the only one in our party to see anything and it's pretty much been does with fawns. No bucks. Not many shots.

I finally shot a doe yesterday, need the meat in the freezer, ending up seeing 13 deer for the season so far, one may have been a buck, not a good luck at it at all, but the rest were all baldies. Slow season for our party.

I was 20 miles north of Grand Rapids and it was quiet. Real quiet, out of approx 20 guys at our resort 4 deer came home by the end of the weekend. I killed 2 of them. Not good.

Most of the gun hunters that hunt around where I live here In central Mn did very well. Surprisingly a good amount of big bucks were shot with all the corn that was In and the warm weather. The bucks are starting to chase again though, the 2nd part of the rut Is heating up quick and will be over before you know It so get out there folks!! I know I'll be out there with bow In hand.
