Starting to see numerous scrapes and rubs. I've only sat in a stand on 1 evening and had a Doe and Fawn come under me right at dark. They were coming out of standing corn.

A North wind has blown for several days now and that prevents me from hunting a particular buck I'm after. However, Monday dawns with a nice South wind and I'm taking the day off. I'll report then.

Took a nice public land buck the other evening. Nothing special rack wise but a good hunt and the deer was a real scrapper. Took a good hit, lost piles of blood and still made me track him twice. Wasn't a gut shot and it wasn't a D lung shot. I thihk it went between the 2 and cliped a lung.

The property is one of the lesser known places except by the locals that I'd scouted out 2 years ago with my daughter. Locked in the stand sites then and haven't been back since. Had a rough time getting it out because of the terrain which gave my attitude a boost when it was over.

Couldn't be happier with the way things turned out.

Finished here this morning with a nice antlerless deer on my own property. Darn deer was bionic, took hours to finish the job.

Another fun hunt since this one included my hound. Dog is a real tracker. Just loved hearing him begin his "I'm on it and it's fresh" howl. It's a thrill that must be experienced. He's never been trained, all in the blood. Like to drag me. :)

I 8point to a light grunt, doe (I think) moving to the salt block at dark. My uddy hunting 300 yeards away saw 2 small bucks and doe. He was grunting and using horns lightly. I'm thinking this stays cold this weekeend we are going to see the rut kickin"

Well, the pre-rut has been a little slow, in my area. I'm sure it'll pick up soon.
