Dan if we don't have a late winter storm like last year you should be in for a great hunt during the mentioned dates.
You can get your License starting I believe March 4th this year. Also on the Wisconsin DNR website they now show the extra tags that were
left over that you can buy. Most that are left occur during mid May to End of may. I will post the link a bitter later for the permit levels.

Well, I got drawn for Zone 1, May 6-10. I grew up in Platteville, but moved to Iowa 11 years ago. I didn't get in to turkey hunting until I moved here, so I have never hunted turkeys back home. I am pretty excited.

Are those dates usually pretty good? Where I hunt in Southern Iowa those dates are pretty good. Also, when do I actually by my license? All I have done so far is pay for the application ($3).

Thanks,
Dan

So how fast do you think the extra tags will go now with the larger zones?

I wouldn't think any faster than they did before the combined zones..........I don't think they have changed the number of permits at all and the last few years there have been leftover tags in most areas as late as the 5th week of season..........

lungbuster;

That is if the computer don't shut down!!! Remember, I think it was two years ago, that their (DNR'S) computer crashed on the day the tags were available? I stood in line for over three hours and finally gave up. Found out the DNR didn't test their new on line system, (just like the DNR).
