RE: Don't believe Obama on guns
yeap i think we need stonger laws for people selling guns illegaly or who are criminals. say five years for someone who is a felon or selling a felon a gun. say 6 months first offense for someone one who is legaly allowed to have a gun but selling it to someone not able to own one. and if they know it 1 to 3 years.
If you have to buy a gun legaly then there most be some reason why you will not go to a gun store. Now i have no proplem with two people selling a gun to one another as long as they follow the laws. RE: Don't believe Obama on guns
I think some of us are forgeting how our government works. for one the house and senate would have to vote on and pass a bill before it even reached whichever one make President. and if you honestly think that any major bill would make it, consider you haveone of the largest, richest, and most powerful lobbiest group in your corner. The NRA.
and are we really that worried about our guns that we would vote for this reason over our job security and possibility of retirement and our economy as a whole? Here let me make some people mad. Anyone who votes for someone for a single issue should reconsider what they are doing. not to themselves but our country as a whole. |
RE: Don't believe Obama on guns
The economy and one's retirement account can recover in a fairly short time. But loss of gun rights can last forever.

RE: Don't believe Obama on guns
Do you realize there saying the dems will reach the magic number of 60 to be able to control everything they do an do not do. The rep should just stand still. If the dems control Congress and the white house were screwed for at least two year maybe 4.
Wait and what obamas spread the wealth around plan does to the economy ORIGINAL: mohunter82 I think some of us are forgeting how our government works. for one the house and senate would have to vote on and pass a bill before it even reached whichever one make President. and if you honestly think that any major bill would make it, consider you haveone of the largest, richest, and most powerful lobbiest group in your corner. There is a reason why we have gun rights with out gun rights you have no rights. Read the 2nd amend. guys. without guns we have no control over weather we have a free society

RE: Don't believe Obama on guns
Tell one of my coworker that is less than2 years away from retirement that his can recover. Plus i would also like there to be some SS left b the time i retire.
i hate to but i have to disagree with ya tim. "without gun rights we have no rights" the 2nd was only an amendment added at a later date. we did have "rights" before that. All i want is for people to make an informed decision. not make decisions based on what they see on TV or as i saw the other day, and this really sent me off the edge, "because she is hot". I'm gonna vote for what is best for the country. not just for me. whichever one that might be for. |
RE: Don't believe Obama on guns
the 2nd amend. was added in 1786 10 years after the dec. of independence
But it was a shorten version of language found in the 1776 declartion of rights ORIGINAL: mohunter82 which come as part of the rev. war and the building blocks of our country. So this country was around for 10 years when the founding fathers relized our right and need to keep and bar arms for a free nation. RE: Don't believe Obama on guns
Well, Mohunter, not to be harsh, but if your friends retirement is not gonna recover then he should probably focus on something that can be saved in the long run, his gun rights. And if you are planning on any candidate to guarantee your social security, you are in for abig surprise. Its one thingto be an idealist and think aloud about what a candidate might do or not do. Its another to be pragmatic in terms of what youknow they will do or not do based on their past record.

RE: Don't believe Obama on guns
im new to this forum just found it today when i got my MLs but as far as felons getting firearms. A felon can get a firearm no problem. Laws are in effect to define societal parameters if a person is a felon they obviously disregard those self same laws. Why are they concerned with a law that says they can only have 1 handgun a month they are criminals. Have any idea how easy it is to be convicted of a felony now a days? Its getting easier daily. As far as obama this is just another reason of many why he shouldnt be elected. If anything a politician does effects your retirement in say the next 2 years you better get some better financial advise cause your in trouble as it is. Seems to me that the choices we have for president is a matter of the lesser of 2 evils.
