yes your right it does, but it may also take long daysof scouting too. And if you donthav the time place a trail cam by what looks like a heavly traild path from the deer and you will get numerouse encounters.

Thats all part of it man, come on. If you could just walk out the door and kill a big buck, it may not be as much fun as it is. Some guys can do that, and thats great , but I myself,,,, I would think I was cheating myself out of the chase. You can scout some this time of year, but in oct. & nov. when all that corn comes down the game changes drasticlly. The deer go from all that cover to just a fraction of the cover. You can let the corn rule your hunt, or you can rule your hunt in the corn.

LC, you mean go out and look for a stand between the bedding area and food prior to hunting? By Gawd your genius! But when I do that the movie Children of the Corn keeps popping into my head and I get scared.

Must be nice to hunt all that crop land. I hunt nothing but straight up and down step hills with swirling winds..........and thick brush/briars.............ahhh yes.......briars. My favorite plant in all the world! I just love how they pierce right thru your clothes and how your hat always gets stuck on them and comes right off your head..........ahhhhhhhh yes.......briars................. I would love to make a trade: briars for corn!
Sorry I cant help you.............never hunted flat crop land like that before. Maybe set up ona tree as high as you can along the edge of the woods and field with a good set of binoculars and just just keep watching 'till season gets here? Just not sure how to approach something like that.
