Any info out there as to what the birds are doin? I have tags for the 4th and 5th seasons. Work has kept me from getting up and scouting much. i will probably go this weekend and do all 5 days in season 5. They still talking or what? any updates would be great...
Forgot to add this. I better or I will get in big trouble. My daughter got her first bird during the youth hunt. she is about as proud as can be and can't wait to get at em again.

Thanks in advance,

WOW, really? Sounds like they are still with many hens then. Thanks for the info. I was kinda hopin they would be a little more busted up then that. Then again two more weeks might do it. I figured this weekend would pretty much be run and gun, may have to be a bit more subtle...
Anyways, thanks again for the info, gives me a lil idea what to expect.

Hunted the3rd season got a nice 21 pounder, 10.5 inch beard, with 1 inch spears. Would have to say that in western wisconsin around Black River falls they were gobblin after they got out of the roost. Also, the toms are still in nice size groups, and they are with henns, which is kind of weird if you ask me.

Just like everyone already said. They are still henned up and gobblers grouped together yet. My son got his second season 21 pounds 8.5 inch beard and I got mine third season 24 pounds 11.5 inch beard. Been a good year so far.
Have extra tags for the last 2 seasons so hope it gets even better which it should.
Good luck everyone and Hunt Safe!!

Hey Art, I hope all is well! I did get a chance to get out a bit for my 1st season hunt before work and got my Bird, 24lbs with 12" beard and 1" spurs! Because of work I was only able to hunt the mornings until 11am and got it done on Saturday morning, my last chance to hunt!
Went out Mushroom hunting today in the North Kettles. I saw a 4 different hens all by there lonesome, feeding in the fields. each time they were by themselves and no Tom within sight. Also saw a Hen with 2 toms just feeding away. 3 Hens feeding with a Tom in tow while full strut the entire time I was watching. 1 Tom by himself going off to roost and then to end the day 3 Toms together wandering thru the field! Its getting rough and the bugs are getting even rougher! Good luck and let us know how you do!
Where are you hunting at in SE Wisconsin????

hunted this morning, they were gobbling quite a bit. Mostly shock gobbles, not so much to a call. They wouldn't decoy. Saw two toms with 2 jakes and they kept running them off. Then later 2 toms together 1 was strutting and feeding the other was just feeding. The last two were enormous.

Gobbling and coming in fairly decent to the call now in south central (zone 12).........alot of hens are nesting now and lonely gobblers are cranking up in mid morning...........5 th and even 6 th season should be HOT this year.
