Default Gobbling in IL!

Went out this morning and heard some pretty good gobbling! Anyone else hearing anything!? Same early season pattern, gobble hard, quite on the ground...

I heard some good gobbling action as well this past weekend, both while on the limb and when they hit the ground. I also have seen quite a bit of full fans in the crop fields of late, won't be long and the stRUT will be in full tilt!!

It seems like this last week. BANG! Birds are strutting. Not sure if the brief warm snap we had did it or not. Story of life. They start sRUTTIN' early and I draw a freaking 4th season tag. Gotta love the lottery.

you don't have to have a springARCHERY tag......you just tote the bow instead of the gun with your turkey permit.

After wounding 2 birds I gave up on trying to score a turkey with my bow. However, I have my honey in training currently. She is determined to try. Here she is practicing for our 5th season hunt at Chicago Bowhunters 3D shoot last weekend. Her scores are improving each shoot. Now I want to see her operate during crunch time whenshe has 3 second windows to draw her bow. The blind I bought has screens we are supposed to be able to shoot through, but I am concerned asRB is still using my son's PSE Bandit instead of getting an adult bow.

ok, well saluki youwon't be able to hunt turkeys with a bow then until fall, but if you apply for a spring turkey tag next year you can tote the bow to the turkey woods.
