Thanks guys, I found everything I need to know and am more excited than before. Not that I wasn't already, the two guys that came back last year both took 150"s.

2007 was the first time I hunted in ILLINOIS, the people are wonderful, and the hunting is great. What a great feeling knowing that the next deer coming in could be the biggest you have ever gotten. I got two bucks out there in 2007, one with the bow, and the other with the shotgun, both are my best bucks with each. Granted they aren't monsters compared to ILLINOIS standards, but they are my best and the memories will last a lifetime. 2008 I promised myself that I will try and hold off for a great buck, and I will do my best to do that. Best of luck Rob

Thank you BCop, Best of luck to you too.

How's the licensing work. I know I could look it up but being your from NJ, you'll know first hand.

Non Resident archery tags can be applied for on-line sometime in either June or July they are good statewide, shotgun/muzzleloader tags can also be applied for on-line in July or August, the firearm tags are only good for the county you will be hunting in, if your successful in drawing tags you must purchase a hunting license and habit stamp.

Since they started the lottery for NR archery tags, everyone who applied properly and on time has been drawn for archery tags.

Last year there were 20,000 NR bow tags available and they had
18,500 +/- applicants by the first drawing deadline which allowed a second chance on a first come basis in August

The application period in the past, has been the month of June with the drawing (if needed) to be held in early July
