You need to google the Iowa DNR website and check out their information on the application process. I THINK that in most states it would have to be your parents that own the land in order for you to qualify for a special landowners permit. There can also be minimal requirements for acreage that must be owned to qualify for such a permit as well.

Couldn't Curt just go to a store in Iowa and buy a non-residents permit?Since his Uncle owns private ground he has a place to hunt...unless he has to draw for a permit? [&:]
Like Lanse Couche stated you probably need to see what rules apply in another state before you try purchasing any tags.

this site will answer your questions on non residents.http://www.iowadnr.com/wildlife/pdfs/07nrdeer.pdf they have a quota for non resident deer hunting license. i have heard that they want to raise the quota by 3000 tags for 2008. but the 3000 additional tags will be for antlers less deer if i heard it right. right now they have 6000 any sex tags and 3500 antlers less tags and they want to go to 6500 antlers less tags if i read it right. i hope this helps. i also know that their is allot of opposition to the raising the quota here in Iowa. i could care less as long as they don't trespass on my ground or any other ground they don't have permission for. when they first allowed non resident deer hunting there was allot of opposition then to but it passed so i cant see the extra tags not getting approved. up date i checked into it and it 3000 more any sex tags for the 2008 deer season. so there will be 9000 any sex tags instead of 6000 if they pass it. and the 3500 anterless tags will stay the same .

Rocky,

Just curious where you got the info on the added non-res licenses. I was interested in taking a look at it.

Thanks,
Dan
