RE: What state to take Archery trip for Whitetail?
I also live in Mich. And the past 2 years we have travled out of state to hunt. Missouri both years and this year we are goning again. The have much more quality deer. and I just fund out my brother (a none hunter) is moving to south central Ohio south of Dayton,Greenfield area. So if any one knows the area let me know:) I will be going down to scout soon. Also on the Michigan thing....I have hunted here all my life, and they have to make some major changes in the laws here to get the quilty deer as the other mid west states[:@] They need to take away the spike law, make it a four points on one side only , and make it so you have to shot a doe before your buck. If they would do any of these or all could you image the hunting here:)

The shooting a doe before your allowed to shoot a buck or get a buck license is a great idea. Wisconsin is already doing it. That figures another ahead of michigan.
Michigan, 1st at being last. |
RE: What state to take Archery trip for Whitetail?
Ohio stinks, we don't have any deer. Again they are all small deer.

RE: What state to take Archery trip for Whitetail?
It depends on if you want a high-fenced operation. My buddy owns/operates a Deer Preserve here in Ohio where you can harvest a 140" to a 200"+ it depends on how big your pockets are. If interested PM me. |
RE: What state to take Archery trip for Whitetail?
Ohio has alot of big deer. My father in law is very happy hunting in ohio. He says it's better than michigan.

RE: What state to take Archery trip for Whitetail?
Cant wait to go check out Ohio in the next couple of months. It cant be any worse then Michigan.

Your abundance of quality deer are more statewide.

Illinois nonresident permit prices just went up for 2008. NR archery tag is now $400, plus $5.50 habitat stamp, plus $28.25 five day license or $50 for annual license.
Nonresident firearm tag increased as well to $300 plus the license plus the stamp. |
