You where asking if one could be carried.
I was just asking why one would want to carry one in Wisconsin. I didnt know if you had reasons to.

Just to let you know a friend of mine posed this questin to a warden last year and was given the answer that you can carry a small caliber hand gun while bow hunting deer. ie. .22,.17... to shoot small game. I hunt in northern wisconsin and twice have had encounters with black bear while bow hunting. once myself and the bear meet in the dark at a distance of about 5 yards, and once one was under my stand and would not leave when I had to get down . In both cases the bear couldn't get away fast enough once they figured out what I was. So I wouldn't be worried about it. while tbear hunting with a bow and faced with the possiblity of a wounded bear thats a diffrent story. but itis legal to carry while bear hunting as far as I know.

Since there is no separate Gun or Bow Bear season in WI, if your want you could carry a handgun or even a rifle or all three, it is legal. Just make sure if you use it, it qualifies as a legal big game weapon.
But if you are that concerned about a black bear in WI I would suggest you stay home. Bear in WI are not considered a danger.
I hunted in Douglas Co for over 25 years, Unit A1 for bears, most likely the most populas area of the state for bears. I'd see several bears every bow season while in my stand, walking to and from my stand and while having coffee on my cabin porch. I never gave them a second thought or considered myself in any danger.
Work hard and be true to yourself.
