Ripped off in Kansas
I put in for a Kansas bowhunt tag this year. I had to pay an outfitter a $500.00 deposit to hold a spot for me. I did not draw my tag. I notified the outfitter and was told I would not get my deposit back. Is this a normal practice for outfitters?[:@]

No, that is not a normal practice for outfitters. We are from N.E. Kansas and dont opperate that way and I dont believe many others would either.
What is the name of the outfitter and where is he from?

Thanks for the reply. It is Flint Hills Adventures, Galen Kleyman, Beaumont Ks.
I know he is the exception and not the rule when it comes to outfitters. It sure does suck when you get the exception.

Did you have any kind of contract with this jerk that covered deposits. If there is no contract that says he will keep it under such and such situations, you MIGHT be able to get it back. Check with the local Better Business Buereu where he is at.
