Michigan's U P
Heard a rumor that Michigan's upper peninsula was burning up ?
My wife told me she heard on the news that some state forest land caught on fire and some thousand acres was destroyed.
Can any of you yuppors confrim this and how will it effect the hunting season.

On our vacation we went up to the upper and looked beautiful as ever....
We did on the other hand go to Mio into the Huron National Forest and there for the past few years have been burning. I use to hunt these very grounds years ago and it was sad to see it look this way. The rows of pines were planted in 1936 and now they are black stick but, the new growth was looking healthy and thick. A deers dream and a hunters nightmare.

As far as hunting in the area goes im not really sure, but i do believe that area is alot of marsh/swamp type conifer forest, but im sure it will screw someones spot up. but on the upside it will be good for the deer as im sure the regrowth will take over.
here's the link that talks about it RD

Yeah it's still burning,They feel they are getting a little better handle on it,But that can change quickly.
also another one started up from a lightning strike in the carney lake area, That's not to far from Iron Mountain.
It's so darn dry,We haven't had any rain around here since the 4th of July and it was dry then.
