Illinois State Land Permits
 

Hey I drew a shotgun tag at JEPC in the resident lottery. They only sent me a parking prmit, but no tag. I called HQ there and she said that is what they do for all of them and we are to pick up the tag when we are down there? She did not sound confident in that as she just started working there. Can someone tell me the normal procedue for this? It's my first year applying. Thanks.

Zim, you should've gotten a tag in the mail. I've never heard of them sending it to the headquarters of the land you'll be hunting. I hunt on Lake Shelbyville project and they send the tag to me. I still need to pick up a site permit but it's free. I'd call the IDNR to see what's going on!

I think the tag comes seperate from the parking lot permit.

OK, I called JEPC and they said they don't mail the tags out, it's done by Springfield. So I called Springfield up and they said yes I did draw the tag and that they would be mailing it out within a month. So that answers my question. But it sounds like some got their property tags already. Do they spread out the mailing THAT much?

Is your tag a county specific, or a property specific tag?

I don't even know what I'll get issued as I never did this. The guy at JEPC didn't even know if it's just a regular gun tag or if it specifies JEPC on there.

Zim, if you use this link and follow the directions exactly you will find out which permit you drew. It will be a site specific permit but it may be an either-sex or an antlerless only.

I know what the tag is. It's an either sex 1st & 2nd season tag for JEPC. They even confirmed my draw when I called Springfield. It's just I can't figure out why someone would get their tags a month and a half before others. Just didn't seem right. Plus they screwed up Don K's draw this year, and didn't want to fix things. So I just want to be sure.
