RE: indiana,public land turkey
New to the forum guys, but I hail from Indy. +1 on Switzerland County and Franklin County - shot my first birdright outside Brookville Reservoir, which is some good public land, butthe best time is during the week, and a lot of times the first week of May is good because everybody either has their birdor is worn out from too many early mornings. For public land the Hoosier National Forest also works well, just get to the southern end down by I-64 and you'll do well.

RE: indiana,public land turkey
I saw quite a few birds while deer hunting this fall at the Mississinewa resevior. Never turkey hunted before but seeing them put some thought of doing it in my head this spring if I can find some time outside of classes.

Since you didn't draw in. A good place you can try would be Greene-Sullivan state forest just south of terre-haute

RE: indiana,public land turkey
Mossyoak,
I work here in West Lafayette and also attended Purdue (way back in the day). It's a tough location for hunting due to the fact that there is little to no public land close by. If I were you I would head out to warren county and start knocking on doors to gain permission on private land. Lot's of turkey out that way. Also, I noticed one of your posts about looking for a bear hunt in 08. I'm in the process of planning one now for the POW in Alaska. I've put a lot of time into researching bear hunts in the US andCanada, however have little experience in the hunt itself. If you have any ?'s about them shoot me an email and I'll try to help.
