Illinois Deer & Turkey Classic
Feb 23, 24 & 25th in Bloomington.
Every year we go over this. Who is going? Which day(s)? Does anyone want to have a HNI "meet" there? Or will HNI havea booth there? (Hopefully their own this year?) And if HNI has a boothcan we just all meet up there? I got a little program in the mail this week and it got me thinking about it. Here is the event information link........... http://www.deerinfo.com/newsreleases/il/2007%20FACTSHEET%20IL%20doc.pdf I am going. |
RE: Illinois Deer & Turkey Classic
I usually try to make it, but it's not going to happen this year.
|
RE: Illinois Deer & Turkey Classic
ill be going. Im going to go the first and last day because im going to bring my deer head to the expo this year. hes not the biggest but im proud of him so i kind of want to show him off a little lol
|
RE: Illinois Deer & Turkey Classic
I'll be there again. This year I'm focusing more on the Illinois Bowfishers booth and running the Kid's archery booth. I think Justin may actually come down to this one and have a shared HNI booth elsewhere at the show. (which is a good thing because as talented as I am, I can't do all three ;))
We gave awaywell over ahundred HNI mousepads, and a couple dozen HNI hats and t-shirts last year. There should be room to meet over by the kid's archery booth. |
RE: Illinois Deer & Turkey Classic
I will be attending the classic on Sat. when the most heads will be there! I haven't missed this show in the last 6 years. And I suggest any die-hard hunter to go, its an absolutely amazing show!!!!!!!!!!!

HOPE TO SEE SOME OF YOU THERE. JEFF S. |
RE: Illinois Deer & Turkey Classic
I am scrambling to get ready to be there this year. If I can get enough stuff together and get a booth that is.

RE: Illinois Deer & Turkey Classic
I'm looking at the 2007 exhibitor list and see no mention of either! Not that it concerns me, I'm just going to see what has been taken in the 06' season anyways... Now that I am taking a closer look at the exhibitor list, I see Huntingnet.com listed with Illinois Bowfisherman in booth 1021. You can see the list for yourself at www.deerinfo.com. Whiteknuckle productions is in the updated list,,, booth #0410.
|
RE: Illinois Deer & Turkey Classic
Illinois Bowfishers. We're not all men. ;);)
Huntingnet doesn't have a stand alone booth for this show. That's why it's not in the listing. ('cept for the split listing with the Illinois Bowfishers) I will probably have some HNI stickers at the bowfishing booth, but you'll have to see Justin at booth #0410 to really check out the goods.:D |
RE: Illinois Deer & Turkey Classic
I'm sorry Christine, when I put Illinois Bowfisherman, the man part was just a short abrev... for woman.. Maybe I'll see you there, and apologize in person.....

RE: Illinois Deer & Turkey Classic
I am hoping to go, not set in stone yet though. If I go it will most likely be on a Saturday or Sunday. Last time I went it was extremely crowded both days, but worth seeing lots of nice deer heads along with meeting lots of good people.
|
RE: Illinois Deer & Turkey Classic
Hey I'd like to meetCoug Mag. I've heard some wild stories about that cat!
|
RE: Illinois Deer & Turkey Classic
I plan on driving up on Sat. I wish the little lady could get offon Fri. so we could go up when its not quite as crowded. I look forward to meeting some of you folks and putting a face with the usernames. I will have a huntingnet t-shirt on, so come up and introduce yourself and say hi.
|
RE: Illinois Deer & Turkey Classic
We need to locate some of these HNI stickers andwrite our profile name on them. Might be easier to remember some of the names rather than faces. Just would be easier to say hello to a fellow hunter!

RE: Illinois Deer & Turkey Classic
I should have stickers at the Kid's Archery booth. Come on by and pick one up.
BTW, at the bowfishers booth, look for the 8 foot long alligator gar we'll have on display. It's a whole lot of fish! :) |
RE: Illinois Deer & Turkey Classic

RE: Illinois Deer & Turkey Classic
I will be there on Saturday with Mobowhunter. Hope to see some of you there.
|
RE: Illinois Deer & Turkey Classic
Any of you wish they would move it back to Peoria? I think it was better in Peoria, more vendors and cheaper beer.
|
RE: Illinois Deer & Turkey Classic
Pee - oria?!
|
RE: Illinois Deer & Turkey Classic
Did I Ssssttuuuddderrrrr? Yes, Peoria.
|
RE: Illinois Deer & Turkey Classic
I attended the Peoria show and there is no way, shape or form that the Peoria show was bigger. It was about 1/4 the size. We would drive 2 hours from the south side of Chicago, to walk around for an hour maybe hour and a 1/2 and we would be done! The only nice thing about Peoria, was as sooon as we walked through the show, we would go and sit in Big Al's for about 3or more hours........
|
RE: Illinois Deer & Turkey Classic
I will be at the Lone Wolf Whitetail Addictions booth... I was supposed to be selling and promoting the release of there 1st DVD, but they did not get done in time[:@] Sooo guess we will just hand out info play the DVD in the booth and hang out.

"I attended the Peoria show and there is no way, shape or form that the Peoria show was bigger. It was about 1/4 the size."
I never said it was bigger, but the vendor quality was better, I went to the show last year in Bloomington and 60% of the vendors were outfitters, 10% were actuall quality stuff, and the remaining were people who made some new gadget or plow implements for your quad. I know most people just gobecause there isn't anything else to do this time of year and look at the mounts, but if your lookingto buy something, your better off using the money spent on parking, enrty, and beer for a tank of gas a drive to BPS or Gander Mountain. |
RE: Illinois Deer & Turkey Classic
Well, we somehow got organized enough(just barely!) to make this show.:)
In fact, we are moved into our booth, and will be ready when the doors open tomorrow. If you folks have time, stop by booth# 3007-3008 in the arena building where all the deer heads are and say hello.:D Big Country Outdoors.......... |
RE: Illinois Deer & Turkey Classic
ORIGINAL: solocamcan Any of you wish they would move it back to Peoria? I think it was better in Peoria, more vendors and cheaper beer. No. It's bigger at Bloomington, so I don't think it had more vendors at Peoria. If you're talking about the TYPES of vendors that are there, well, if it was still in Peoria, these same vendors would be there too. Gonna get there saturday morning, see the whole place and then head over to the Illinois Bowfisher's booth and try to teach some youngins how to shoot some bows! Ifany of you aregoing, I'll see you tomorrow. BTW, thanks alot to Christine and Kendall for all that you guys are doing to setup our booth there. I'll get over to you around noon I think and I'll stay till close. Where are we going after the show? |
