I have heard of a 295" NT hit by a truck down in Evansville, IL (near Carbondale I believe). This friggin' deer has been in all the local papers with no story and only pictures.....but it just so happens that it is the same deer that was taken with crossbow by the Amish guy in Ohio. I've heard plenty of rumors about this deer being from So. IL so it could be the same one you are talking about. I actually had a guy I know (a cronic liar in my opinion) that tried to tell me last weekend that his friend actually hit this deer with his truck....then I busted him out with the fact that it was taken in Ohio. Never heard the story come from his mouth again while in deer camp last weekend...haha.

I've heard about a big one in Southern Illinois that was road kill, but not a potential record. However rumor is that a possible new non-typical world record was taken in Clark County. What I've heard is that this deer had 52 points (42 or so scorable), with a 40 inch spread. This buck was supposedly killed by a young kid with a bow. An investigation has been going on and from sources the story is 90% legit. Some other investigations are still needed. I've also heard that Cabelas has bought this deer head. Just some information I have heard.

You guys are crazy to think that a record book buck could be killed and it not be front page news. Trust me if any kind of huge buck like that is killed we will here about it. Just like the Amish buck from Ohio. That was all over the place just a few hours after it was killed. Give me a break.

I think you're talking about the deer that was shot in white county. He was a 10 pt that what i know about the deer.
The guys took him the wed. before first season. they were from one of the carolinas. they shot it about 100yrds from a game wardon's home. they lost the guns(both rifles), and was taken to jail for the night. they bailed out the next morning 100 each. they still have to go back to white county for a court date.
not sure if this is the one that you were talking about, but this is the one that heard of .
