Pet Peeve, Indiana Licenses...
Anybody else been frustrated with the new "system" Indiana has gone to for their hunting and fishing licenses? I know it's probably way more efficient for them, but it doesn't even have a place on the printout to mark doe or buck like it used to, according to the C.O. we talked to, you are suppose to make your own or use the one out of the rules and regs.
The only benefit I see to this new computerized printout system is that if you get your license online and lose it, you can reprint it again... the bad news is, if you didn't get it online, you either have to wait a millenium to get a new one sent, or buy a different one! Maybe it's just me, but it is kind of frustrating and really quite a pain in the tooshie. |

It'd be nice even if they had tags on the sight to print off and use. |

I dont have a problem with the computerized system myself. The only thing that kinda irritates me about the license is that since they went to OBR we still have to buy an additional buck tag for each season up until we finally kill one. If you are going to allow just one buck then why not have a single buck tag for all year long good for any weapon?

RE: Pet Peeve, Indiana Licenses...
excellent point, bigbuck... guess it's all about the money. At least the money is going to the DNR, but I still completely agree with you.
|
RE: Pet Peeve, Indiana Licenses...
Thats a great point
|
RE: Pet Peeve, Indiana Licenses...
Because they'd lose money doing that.
I think with the new system, it makes it easier for poachers, especially if they get stopped by DNR. Yeah I have a tag, and here's the transfer tag I just made this morning. See? All filled out and legal. DNR leaves, the poacher goes home and never checks the deer in. [:'(] I've found several carcasses at Mississinewa, with the antlers cut off. |
RE: Pet Peeve, Indiana Licenses...
I don't care much for the new system as well. Although it may save a boat-load of cash for the state, it's just dumb how they go about it (OBR).

RE: Pet Peeve, Indiana Licenses...
I'm all for the government cutting budget on certain things, but I tell ya what... when it comes to hunting, don't mess with it unless you are darn sure you are making it BETTER!!
My child support checks will probably end up being put on a debit card sooner than later. They have been talking about doing it with no other options in the near future. That will just set me a fumin'! But... it saves sooo much on postage! Grrrr... |

NO HNI?! **gasp**
Yah, no kidding... I'd actually have to clean ALL day instead of half the day... it's hard keeping up with two dogs, two kids and a husband! LOL |
RE: Pet Peeve, Indiana Licenses...
Yeah, I remember when I was in 3rd grade *gasp...1990*...we got our first computer. Oregon Trail was dominated many a time from this guy. No bear, deer, elk, or rabbit was safe from my character. [8D]

RE: Pet Peeve, Indiana Licenses...
I don't know what all the confusion is but I don't really have to worry about it becuase I got a lifetime license before they got rid of them.

RE: Pet Peeve, Indiana Licenses...
yea i do to honna but some people werent as lucky and just had a few questions

RE: Pet Peeve, Indiana Licenses...
Apparently there is a problem with the online system this year that has allowed for some people to buy their first bonus tag at 15 bucks, when it should be 24. The 15 dollar tags are for the 2nd bonus and so on. The DNR is urging people to act honestly in regards to this. I just picked up my tags last weekend and i paid the regular 24 for both tags. I guess they are going to leave it this way for the year, i cant see many people actually telling the DNR that they ripped them off but maybe some will.

RE: Pet Peeve, Indiana Licenses...
Serves 'em right for making us buy a buck tag for every season.... [8D]Okay, okay, I'm just joking...
I had heard about this last weekend. |
RE: Pet Peeve, Indiana Licenses...
Yeah, I bought a bonus tag a couple of days ago. When it first came up it said $15. Well, the cashier actually clicked on the "Additional bonus antlerless tag". At the bottom of the page in red letters it said that it is illegal to buy an additional bonus tag before you buy the first tag. Anyway, I told her $15.00 wasn't right. She scrolled up and found the "First Bonus Tag", which of course is $24.00.
I still think since you can write your own transport tag, it encourages poachers even more. |
