Who's deer hunting in IL?
#1

Would kinda like to see who's hunting where and what activity is going on.
I bow hunt mostly here in NE IL, some down on the farm in Johnson county (Vienna/Cypess area). Gun hunt down in Johnson.
It looks like the number of deer here in suburbia is really growing. Should be no problem putting some fresh meat on a few folks tables this season (maybe earlier if they don't stay off the roads - LOL).
As for what's going on down on the farm, again - more deer than ever. Just got some more good satelite photos of the farm and will be working on some new strageties and stand placements.

Hunting Wayne and Clay County. I am seeing big #'s and some really nice bucks. Have pics of 13 shooters from the game cams. Checking them again tonight. Hope to have some good pics to share. A group of guys from the club are meeting this weekend to hang some sets. Should be a great year.

Me, is it time yet??? I'm in Southern St. Clair county. I don't know about you guys, but it has been awhile since we got any decent rain. I am seeing some ears of corn already hanging straight down. I don't think there will be too many standing corn fields around come Oct. Which is good for us.
I'm seeing a lot of deer too. All times of day, even when it was hot???

I'll be bowhunting in:
Huntley, Johnsburg, and Barrington this year. Might have a chance to bowhunt Pike County too for free
And for gun, I'll be down in Crab Orchard second season.

I'm gonna pass this year. A non-resident permit to hunt on my own land in Richland County is just too much. I will, however, hangout for one of the shotgun seasons to help drag out and butcher deer. That, and hanging out with the guys and cooking and drinking beer in my Dad's garage is as fun as hunting. Should be a good year. Everytime I go home I see more deer than rabbbits or squirrels. Several deer in the 8 to 14 point range were taken within a short distance of my place last year.
