I get the Ohio Fish and Game magazines and they said Wayne National Forest is a good place to deer hunt. I have never hunted there but want to. I have hunted at Salt Fork State Park in Gernsuy County and saw plenty of deer. I went Turkey hunting at Woodbury Wildlife Area in Coshocton County and saw a few deer. In fact I saw more deer than turkey there.

Im hunting WNF.Some areas get presure some dont. The deer popoulation is good but not great. Its very hard because WNF is big woods style hunting and food source is limited to akorns and wild plants ect..If you get anywhere near crops thery are there,

I've hunted the WNF in Gallia Co. for the last 8 years with much success. I've arrowed 3 bucks and slugged 5 two of which were trophies. There is a lot of WNF land that joins public with corn and alphalfa. Best to get well off the road away from hunting pressure...Good luck
