Got this one this morning. I had 6 long beards come in on me and heard 3 other groups gobbling within a 1/4 mi from me. 19 lbs. 10in. beard 1 in spurs.

Good going, Ray, did you get the bird with a bow? Great find on the mushrooms, those are delicious!

I took it with a gun. I only had 5 days to hunt and the first 2 were terrible. I would have tried with a bow if I had drawn a second tag but was unlucky with that. Some guys get 3 and 4 tags and can only kill 2 birds per year. I have only got 1 tag the last 3 years and have tried to get 2. Another screwed up IL way of doing things. Why not just give everyone 2 tags. I am thinking about going to KY. in a week and trying with a bow there. I took a nice gobbler there last year with a bow.

Hey nice bird Ray! That's encouraging, I got an Easter weekend tag. We'll see what happens.

A really nice Tom was taken on my land over in Richland County this past week. However, it wasn't me because I live 300 miles away and refuse to shell out 200 bucks (or whatever it is) for a non-resident turkey tag. So, aMennonite kid with a muzzleloading shotgun is now eating turkey. Maybe he'll save me a wing[&o]
