Proposed Illinois gun ban
dont know how many of you this might effect if any of you and some of yall may have already heard, but if not.. Illinois Gov. Rob Blagojevich
and Chicago Mayor Richard Daley are trying to get law makers to pass a law prohibiting the manufacture, possesion and delivery of seim-automatic weapons, large ammo clips and the .50cal assualt rifle. Chicago mayor Daley said "It's about time that all of us as American come together in regard to commonsense gun laws" and that " there has been progress in reducioong violence in communities but if that progress is to be maintained, we have to keep the most dnageerous weapons offf our streets NRA spokesman Andrew Arulanandam said the it would not reduce crime and istead would affect hunters and people who take part in shooting sport, he also said that " this ban was enacted at he federal level and congress decided that it was an ineffective tool to combat violent crime and as a result they did not renew it is '04" Like i said i dont know if this effects any of u or yalll may have known about it but i just that i would put it up in case u haven't heard about it. |
RE: Proposed Illinois gun ban
all thesepeople are get me so angry. if they try to take away some of are gun rights the next thing you no is there trying to take away all of are guns
|
RE: Proposed Illinois gun ban
daley should spend more time running chicago and stopping all the bribery and corruption in his city and stop worrying about something that does not effect him. i for one cannot remember the last time some gangbanger was armed with a 50 caliber assult rifle
|
RE: Proposed Illinois gun ban
The sad part is the supposed people they are trying to stop from getting these guns. The bad guys"gang bangers"will still get the guns anyway do you think that these guys buy legal guys NOT !!!
I do not see this law being passed but if we let it then look out cause they will just go do the line until we have nothing left not even our bows |
RE: Proposed Illinois gun ban
A WELL REGULATED MILITA, BEING NECESSARY TO THE SECURITY OF A FREE STATE, THE RIGHT OF THE PEOPLE TO KEEP AND BEAR ARMS, SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED.
|
RE: Proposed Illinois gun ban
Well what do you expect in this state? I'm sorry, I meant the state of Chicago. I wish we could kick Chicago out of IL and have them be their own state, then we wouldnt have to deal with all the corrupt BS politicians from there. I have no idea who any of the canidates are for gov, and I hope one of them is better than the last 2 gov's we've had.

RE: Proposed Illinois gun ban
Good ole Blow********. Chicago is Illinois according to him

RE: Proposed Illinois gun ban
illinois's gun laws are already screwy. i used to have to keep an up-to-date FOID card. but now that i'm no longer a state resident i can wander around there carrying a gun w/out one. i can even buy ammo w/out one.
|
RE: Proposed Illinois gun ban
As a former Chicago resident I know firsthand that the gun registration laws of that city have never worked, but the liberal politicians can't see it.
If it wasn't for having strong second ammendment rights legislators downtate ,Chicago Mayor Dicky Daley and his puppet Gov Baloney Sandwich would disarm all of us.When anti-gun legislation comes up,I still contact my Senator and Rep. even though I know they will not support it. Those of us living in the blue areas of our state need to make their views known to their elected officials. The NRA daily news letter keeps you informed of any pertinent legislation that is pending. Bill |
RE: Proposed Illinois gun ban
i thinks it funny, because more than likely the people trying to pass the law dont even own a gun. thats why they are trying to pass it. if this law gets passed, almost all of the people who voted for BLOGO, WHY they voted for him in the first place.......is WAY over my head, he a bad representative. but most of who voted for him will regret voting for him.

RE: Proposed Illinois gun ban
So, does anybody positively know if this "law" would ban the FUTURE sale of these firearms and magazines or if it would outright outlaw these types of firearms? And, I might be mistaken but doesn't a 12 ga. shotgun fall under the .50 cal category? If so, the hunting laws might be changed if this ban is passed. Just food for thought I guess.
|
RE: Proposed Illinois gun ban
who hunts with a .50 cal assult rifle anyhow. if the 12 ga. does fall under that category then that's total bs. guns were made for a reason.
|
RE: Proposed Illinois gun ban
No body I know of hunts with a .50 Cal Assult rifle. But thereare a bunch of people that hunt with .50 cal muzzleloaders and this gun will fall under that ban. I don't know if you guys in IL have a muzzle loader season but I do in MO if they put that ban in in would affect at a bare minimum of 1/3 the hunters.
Getr these 2 guys out of office. By the way It sounds to me like the crimminals are smarter than the idiots, imean the government of IL. They are only going to buy illeagal guns so there is no trace back to them. The idots, (oops I did it again), I mean the government has not figured that out yet. |
RE: Proposed Illinois gun ban
slobbyrobby33
All this gun control crap legislation begins with the liberals from the State of Chicago. My Rep and Senator are rated A+ by the NRA.They have a tough job fighting the proposed restrictions that originate up north, but they do a D##n good job Bill |

i found this site the other day at school while i was doin research for my speech. |
RE: Proposed Illinois gun ban
The citizens of the entire state of Illinois must surely outnumber theliberal trashof the police state of Chicagoland , when your next gubernatorial election comes up get out and rock the vote and kick the idiot out of the Governor's mansion . While you're at it start weeding out your Legislature , they don't seem to be much better .

RE: Proposed Illinois gun ban
Blago is a hypocrite in the worst way. Supposedly he was in support of the new "World Shooting & Recreational Complex" built in Sparta. This site is touted as being the new future home of the Grand American. We will see.
You can't have it both ways. |
RE: Proposed Illinois gun ban
Thanks PSEsilverhawk55
I have been an NRA member for many years and heard about the ISRA.After checking out the link you provided I joined immediately. They have an excellent and informative video to download on their site. They make an excellent point,There are 80 million gun owners in this country and only 3 million belong to the NRA.We can not take gun ownership and hunting rights for granted. There is a strong political move to limit or destroy our second ammendment rights. Bill |
RE: Proposed Illinois gun ban
Daley needs to keep his pie hole shut. Guns are not legal in the city limits of Chicago. If guns are not allowed there why is he trying to get them banned. North of I-80 should be it's own state, leave us hicks alone city boy.
|
RE: Proposed Illinois gun ban
Chicago is NOT Illinois. Violence is in CHICAGO. I hate this corrupt government. Think about the small town American people. Not the high rolling and "thug" Americans. This is Illinois, how can this even be proposed? CHICAGO seems to ruin the Illinois Gov't.
|
RE: Proposed Illinois gun ban
What are we supposed to expect out of thgis gov.? he refuses to live in Springfield, he prefers to live in chicago. Why would he care about us down here?
|
