Ladies and gents, today was the gun opener in the UP....how did thew hunts go with everyone??? This is going to be the official Upper Peninsula, MI gun season report thread. I'll be heading out in 9 days....

I saw 12 does and three spikes, all still walking. Turned pretty ugly in the afternoon but hopefully tonight's hunt will be better. Good luck!

I hunt near Wallace in Menominee County....saw 2 does at 7:15 yesterday morning and then shot an 8 pointer at 9 am. I didn't go out in the afternoon...this morning saw 1 doe.

Saw alot of does and a few small buck's
I save the does for after thanksgiving then start dropping them,Freezer fill
My son saw a small six tonight but let him walk,He said it need's to grow a little bit more(Kinda makes me proud )

Ive been seeing deer every day all week, mostly just does and a couple of smaller bucks i passed on.
hopefully things will change here during the last week of the season, back to work for me on monday so
i wont be able to get out till thanksgiving day.

Good to know you guys are seeing deer with such a big moon out. I'll be heading out Wednesday until Sunday and the weather man is calling some cold, snowy days up ahead. Good luck to me and all you UP'ers out there!

The buck weighed 197, and had a 16 inch spread..It is the biggest deer I have ever shot!!!
