ILL shotgun opener - who's chompin?
 

With the Illinois shotgun opener ''in our sights' who else is chompin' at the bit?

Me and Hoss1 certainly are. He's busy doing his school work he would have missed if he wasn't out hunting. And me? Well I pretty much have all our gear together, the tent aired out and rolled up and out other stuff packed up. I even put all new LED lighting on the trailer and rewired it all (I'm tired of problems with trailer lights!) Only thing left is oil change and air filter on the truck and oil change on the 4 wheeler.

We will be down in Johnson county, anyone in the neighborhood - stop on by.

Where are other guys (and gals?) hunting in Illinois?

I am pumped up myself my father and i are heading out to pike county hopefully the weather is nice and cool last year in brown county we saw lots of deer but only one real shooter and he was running a doe far out.
How is the rut looking this year for the first shotgun season?

I'll be here at home in Lake County, tucked away in a tree with my bow in hand. :D

I'll be out shotgun season for sure, but on wednesday and thursday I'm going to be bow hunting hard and waterfowl hunting too I guess it's just that time of year.

I'll be bowhunting the rest of the week, then hopefully tagged out friday by noon, I've been watching a big 5x5 with 2 'trash points':)

Wish i could get a couple more days of bowhunting in before then, but will settle for getting friday off work to gun hunt.
