Apparently someone in Pike county took a deer with a 31" main beam. That sounds a little big to me. I havent seen it or heard anything besides pike county and 31" anyone have any thoughts on that.

31"? I hate it when guys say it can't be true without knowing any facts or any details, so I guess you might have to lump me into the group just this once....but a 31" spread?? That buck would have to look like nothing else I've seen before. ha, ha

How many true 30" beam bucks are there out there?
Of those I would have to assume that some of them must have been 31" green?

I'd love to verify this, and it would be a lot easier if there were still check stations out there instead of jsut doing it over the phone, but that would sure be a big deer.


I just checked the boone and crocket site for world Record Typical and it's main beams with both 28 4/8 I believe so 31" would be pretty big.

There is a deer called 'Ol 30-30. I think its 30 inch main beams and a 30 inch spread. It can happen I just think its really rare.

nah, it has a 34 and and 35 inch main beams.....35 inch spread.....and I got him with a spear back in 'nam.

It's just a rumor, and I can prove it. The fact is, there just aren't any big deer in Illinois. The biggest deer get in Illinois is about 100 pounds and spike's, no such thing as a big buck, or doe in the state. So you can all sleep better at night knowing that we don't have to worry about big deer.


But seriously, I really want to see this deer, even if it isn't that, big, its still got to be a good deer.
