24 inside spread. 2- 26 inch main beams, 5 7/8 mass on both sides, 4 inch mass the rest of the way, and a total of 11 tines to measure I agree the tines are not the most impressive but I guess I cannot have it all, but he is 172 none the less

No, you're not, Pat, that thing is a MONSTER. I have NEVER seen a deer with a head that big, holy bejeezies, Batman! I have GOT to know how much that thing weighed! It's head is seriously the size of a horse! I'm in utter amazement that anyone would consider letting that thing walk by, it would walk by me though, 'cuz I'd fall over from a heartattack blowing all chances of a shot! [8D]
Us Indiana boys 'n' girls want to know the weight!?

You are right. He does have a huge head and the body to match.I would guess his age to be 5 1/2 or older and body weight around 280. Around here weight is not talk about as much as age and rack...I will be taping my buddies hunts now. We have a good piece of ground to hunt (10,000 acres) and are able to let 3 1/2 year old deer that go around 140- 150s go until the next year so they can reach there potential. I have some good deer on video from last year that should be studs this year.

What county did you take him out of? Our farm is in Smith County.....we have some nice bucks, but I've never seen anything that big. Did you get him down around Ark City?

I shot him in Reno County. I thought I videoed him last year but it was a different deer. We (my buddy and I) have been fortunate enough to hae a good piece of ground where we can let 140s and younger 150s pass to let them reach there potential. It is very hard to let a nice high 140 inch deer pass but knowing that there is bigger deer out there and that by letting him walk you will get a chance a 160 or 170 next year helps.

Awesome buck. I hunt in reno county as well.It is not the main county I hunt in b/cI also hunt in Sedgwick, Harvey, and Sumner. But all these counties are capable of growing these kind of bucks. I just wish i had 10000 acres to hunt like you.
