Default 10 tons of carp

We met Mr Briney pulling his boats out while we where pulling in.

He had a few fish. About 10 tons.. mostly bigheads.

These are huge boats too.

Pretty interesting.

He usually never stays out for more than about 4 hours, unless it is really cool out, so the fish don't go bad, I'm told. How many guys he have working for him when you saw him?

A recent article in the Alton IL paper said commercial fishermen are netting asians, and having them processed in Pearl IL at a fish market for sale to orientals. They ship them overseas.

Briney said these were going to New York. He said the processor just guts 'em, puts 'em on ice and ships them.

Duane, I think he had five guys with him. He said he'll hit this lake until he can't fill the nets in short order. It's the same lake we took you out on last summer. He said there were only about 4 grass carp in the boat. That kind of surprised me. I guess grassies don't like to hang out with the riff-raff bigheads and silvers. ;0)
