i hope to be there in the walking division..depending on how the farming goes
|
Ken, you need to stop watching the weather so closely. Just plan on being there and bring warm weather gear, cold gear and rain gear. :)
The wind usually lays down at night on Rend. If it does stay windy.. you and Tony will have an edge on us. The fan-toon gets a mind of it's own in the wind. ;) Hope to see you there Down&OutHunting! |
Not my team but Team "Mad Squaw" will be there

Ken, that's not scolding.... you'll know when I'm scolding. ;)
:action-smiley-099: Here are the rules. Somebody read over them for me. I always make some sort of error with them. :bash: http://www.illinoisbowfishers.com/bdrules10.pdf |
Here is the registration form: http://www.illinoisbowfishers.com/reg10.pdf
(this will work for all of our tournaments) If you can fill it out ahead of time, it will save us some time at the tournament. You can email or fax it in as well. [email protected] and 1 (309) 222-8301 (fax) |
The Triton of Terror will be there, that's right baby, we're back. After a one year lay out, we figure to be the team to beat :) 3rd Place three years ago and 2nd place last time, it's geometric destiny to be 1st place this year. Oh and just because we know it's almost as good as in the bag, we've obtained the services of a journalist from Outdoor News to ride and shoot with us that evening so he might record the evening for posterity's sake.
How's that for smack with absolutely no chance on out part for backing it up. :o |
rend
Yes, team Mendenhall will be there! Rookie says he is coming for Gargone, but don't know if he has what it takes to over take Helgar. Looking forward to seeing everyone, yes even you Slim!
|
Look out folks we have luck on our side for Outdoors Experience....My cousin went and got a tattoo.....I figure he weighs about 180...Soooooo....if worse comes to worse...Does he count????
![]() |
He will have to lay in the barrel with th erest of the fish till weigh in,
|
Great Smack-down Robster. I think you missed your geometric destiny last year. Tho' if you would have beaten 541 fish.... I'd pull an Obama and bow before your awesome-ness...
Ken, I think we would only weigh the carpy part... and there had better be an arrow hole in it. ;) BTW, I think we have at least one award in the bag.... bwahahahaha ![]() |

Well I was awoke at 4:45 this morning with a kid puking.....couldn't go back to sleep. I have 2 soccer games to go to this morning, 1 baseball practice that I'm coaching, then off to Rend.
All I have to say is thank God for 5 hour energy shots and Mt. Dew....I'm gonna need it tonight!.. C-Yall down there! |
I will get the full results from the tourny up a bit later.
quick info: We had 29 teams. (plus the BASI walking division had 6 teams) Well over 100 people were in attendance. States represented. Arkansas, Missouri, Indiana, Michigan, Kentucky and of course, Illinois. Total fish taken by the boat teams was 1088. (The cold snap made the bowfishing rather challenging.) Boat troubles were, as usual, prevalent. Team Extreme experienced extreme enough problems that they were unable to bowfish at all. :( Really important Factoid: The Mighty Fan-toon beat the Triton of Terror, Team Hel-gar, and Team Outdoors Experience. ;) A huge thank you to everyone attending!! I can't thank Billy's family enough for their help with the event. Thank you to our Sponsors. AMS Bowfishing, Muzzy, Archer's Choice, Rend Lake Sporting Goods, IL Outdoors News, M & R Bowstrings, Blue Ridge Backwoods, Cajun Archery, Shure Shot arrow points, Bowfishing Extreme, Outdoors Experience, US Army and Bowhunting.com. (I'm sure I'm forgetting some) To Randy and The Shot for the memorial gift to Billy's family and the driftwood big and small fish trophies. To Mike of Boondocks Woodworking for making the regular trophies. I hate doing individual thank yous because I'll surely miss somebody... but a special shout out to Joanne, Dave, Rob, Kendall, Joseph and Alex for their help. Thanks to Mike Hooe for all his help with the DNR and USACE. Thanks to Alicia for taking photos. Thanks to Jay and Gretchen for documenting it all. Thanks to Eric and his crew for working with us. I know I'm missing a lot of folks because pretty much everybody stepped up to the plate and made this one of the smoothest events yet. I really appreciate it, and I hope everyone enjoyed themselves. |
Yep, We have to say a HUGE thank you to all those mentioned and also the DRBA.
It's great to have these guys (and everyone else) there. 29 boats! 29 Boats! wow. That IS awesome! |
That's a great turnout !
Pretty soon we'll have more than 30. That's a lot of hot dogs. |
Yes, I will admit it, the Fan-toon blew me away. But had we not suffered soooo many mechanical problems, well we would have, err well we might have, errrrr...... Truth is, I'm not even sure I saw 41 fish that night, my worst evening on Rend in the 8 years we've been going down there for sure. They just weren't in the areas where we have found them in the past, but truth be told, I NOW HAVE FAN-TOON ENVY. There I said it, alright, I hope you're happy. Do they make after-market pontoon kits that I can slap on an 18 60 Jon boat?
Oh, and Bulz, we didn't eat hot dogs but a true feast was put on by the family. Unbelievable amount and variety of foods, sloppy Joes, chilie, ham and beans and cornbread, tons of cakes and brownies. Thanks again to all. |
So when are we going to see some results?? been waiting all week to see who won what.
|
|
You don't have to go to BFC for the results....
