News flash !!
Talked to Jackie Taylor of the corp of Engineers this morning and she told me that the bow fishing season down on the kaskakia river below the Carlye Dam HAS BEEN ELIMINATED AS OF APRIL 1st OF THIS YEAR. So there is no bow fishing until April 1st. After that it will be open year around unless there are complaints or fishing too close to bank fishermen and not disposing of the fish properly. She Asked us to shoot all we can. The sign at the parking lot will be changed by then.. yepee

Thanks for the update and all your work on this JohnnyB!
A thanks to IFOR for putting us in contact with the right folks too.
I can see some late trips down there for the biggies this year. Not too sure how well it will be in the early season with all the high water but at least it's an option.
To all: Let's all be good stewards and dispose of fish properly (not in the dumpster, not thrown on shore) and keep a respectful distance from the shore fishermen.
Be mindful of the paddlefish that sometimes hang out there too.

I've been lurkin on the forum here for a little while, but I had to join just to say thanks for all your help on this one! I bowfish Carlyle and Horseshoe more than anywhere and restrictions at both places have been opened up from the help of this club. Thanks again!
