Default Banquet

Some of us have been throwing around the idea of having a post bow fishing season get together banquet. Would like some in put from you guys as to a central location and a time. weekend or weeknight. It has been suggested Bloomington or Montecello as the two most likely central sites. Once we decide I Will make arrangements for a resturant with a meeting room. The bowlers can have banquets why cant we.. Thanks ahead of time for you input. The Mendahalls would be invited too.

I think it sounds like a great idea. Another option would be a pot luck.

I'm thinking a Saturday evening would be the best but if you want it before the end of the year, then you have to hurry up and pick a date so as to avoid Thanksgiving and Christmas parties starting early in December. just my 2 cents.

I was thinking that very thing yesterday while sitting in my tree stand. It is getting a little late with deer season and the holidays. I'm thinking after the new year when we have nothing to do. it would be a good time to get together..

Would there be any interest in having a really nice but laid back extravaganza allowing for some auctions, prizes given away, slide show and something we would sell tickets to, say $20 a plate and put some money away for the club. The Illinois Smallmouth Alliance has an annual banquet in February each year which is a great time and earns a few dollars for the organization for the upcoming year's conservation projects.

Or am I thinking too big here?? I don't think so. I would be willing to help put something like this on if there is enough interest.

Well here is what was batted around today. It is clear that we need a club meeting some time before the new year. Club officers nominations and other stuff like the banquet. Probably try and persuade Deb to let us use here place. The banquet would be after the new year at some resturant with a meeting room possibly in champaign. The idea of a club raffle is appealing to generate some funds for the club. We are running close to empty.

I'm thinking that Ryans resturant in champaing right off of I-74 Might work. They have back rooms that we probably can reserve. I will check with them..
