RE: Headed to Michigan

Looks like a good shoot just gota get the weather to cooperate. Whats the deal with it being so shallow? Is the entire lake like that?? I cant say to much.... if horseshoe was rocky I would have gone through several props just this year.

Around the two public ramps that you can still get out of, it is that shallow. Saginaw Bay on the tournament side is shallow unless it has a river flowing into it. The other places are dug out at the three marinas. No matter what, once you get into the bay, it is shallow with a lot of rocks from Caseville to Bay City (the tournament boundaries). I've been there for 14 years in a jonboat and I lost my props the first few years, but since then I've taken a boat with a jet prop and haven't had any problems (knock on wood). If you don't have an airboat, you have to have a jet. Go-devils don't work.

Why don't the Go Devils work? I saw a couple of them runnin' around and they looked to be doing OK, except that they were dry footin' it and it took one of them to run the GD so they only had one shooter.

We knew some guys that used one up there and it really took a beating with the rocks and there arms really got wore out from driving it in all the mung. Plus, only one guy can shoot.
