Default kentucky dam

saturday we went and shot a tourney at kentucky dam. the fish werent up near as good as they said they were friday. but we still managed to shoot 27 or 28 bigheads with most teams shooting over 50. the good thing was most of the fish we shot were nice. our top 19 and 1 gar weighed 542lb. big fish for us was 42 lb. the big fish of the shoot was 54lb. i have never even seen 1 that big. the shelbyville boys went there friday also and said it was awesome. yall might think about a trip if ya have been tossing it around....

Wow. That's some good fishing.

Hey, is 'Kentucky Dam' at 'Kentucky Lake' ??
I've never been that far south for fish.

you might want to check the flow reports before ya go. i looked at them earlier today and they were through the roof!! the lake is 3 feet above normal right now and the water is gushin. they say that is why they werent up as good saturday as they was friday. it was just startin to raise-- flow more current.

We were down there a couple of weeks ago and the fishing was very decent but not great. My son and his best friend shot a bunch of bigheads and several gar and each boy got an 18 lb longnose so they had a great time until we got rained on. Only one paddle fish but it did grill up nicely

Cool. I just met somebody who has a relative with a vacation house on Kentucky Lake. Can you shoot the lake, below the dam, or both?

Hey Cody, I'll have to check with you about conditions when I eventually make it down there.

Slim, do you have a website that you use to check flows??

Try this website. I use it for the Illinois and Mississip. It has the right rivers but not sure what it will say about the dam.

http://www2.mvr.usace.army.mil/WaterControl/new/layout.cfm

You just have to click the Louisville district and use the drop down menu up top to pick the river.
