Default question

Ok i know i have asked this before but i really need some help. I am going to buy a takedown for bowfishing. It is a choice between these two:

PSE Kingfisher
http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/product/standard-item.jsp?_DARGS=/cabelas/en/common/catalog/item-link.jsp_A&_DAV=MainCatcat21424-cat600272_TGP&id=0004395416825a&navCount=2 &podId=0004395&parentId=cat600272&mast erpathid=&navAction=push&catalogCode=IJ&am p;rid=&parentType=index&indexId=cat600272& amp;hasJS=true

PSE Impala
http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/product/standard-item.jsp?_DARGS=/cabelas/en/common/catalog/item-link.jsp_A&_DAV=MainCatcat21424-cat600272_TGP&id=0004395413893a&navCount=4 &podId=0004395&parentId=cat600272&mast erpathid=&navAction=push&catalogCode=IJ&am p;rid=&parentType=index&indexId=cat600272& amp;hasJS=true

I really want to get one and think these are the cheapest for brand new bows so which should i get. One other question should i go 45# or 50#? Please what are your recommendations, you guys and gals know more sbout recurves than i do.

Default RE: question

If you looking for a bowfishing recurve the kingfisher is tough and cheap. The metal riser makes it a bit heavier but also a bit tougher. It has threaded holes to accept a reel seat or a retriever reel.

http://www.bowfishingextreme.com/ItemsForSale/Bows/Kingfisher.htm Bowfishing Extreme sells the bare bow for 110.00

You're big and strong, go with the 50lb limbs. It's easy to draw a little less and use less force and you'll still be able to get that little bit of extra 'oomph' when you see that big, big fish.

My very first bowfishing bow was a PSE Impala. I thought the handle was a bit too big and bulky, but I do remember it sat nice in the hand. It was just a little uncomfortable fighting fish in because of the bigger grip. It's got the threaded-inserts for accessories, including the stabilizer bushing. I've never shot the Kingfisher.

I would say 50-pounds only because you can short-draw close shots, and still have the power for longer and deeper shots.

I have been shooting with the same kingfisher for the last 4 years. I have beat it, dropped it, .....well and sometimes thrown it.....I can speak from experience it is one tough competitor.

Yes, you would be able to shoot directly off of the rest. It is just like any other recurve. Only this is a machined aluminum riser with composite limbs. It is drilled and tappedto accept reels and rests.
