What I'm doing for my 'vacation'
Hey all ya'll. I've been down here in Carmi, Il since Wednesday afternoon.
My co-worker Justin and I are a team down here at the deer filming/hunting challenge.
Yesterday (Thursday) was our first day of hunting. I was the hunter and Justin was cameraman.
There are fourteen teams here. There's some great food, accomdations and great people. Some really good bucks have been seen but none taken yet.
You can read about our first day here: http://www.huntingnet.com/fieldjourn...l.aspx?nID=794
(We'll update with more pictures and the other teams info a bit later.)
Today was my day to film. My first time filming a hunt for someone.
We did have a neat messed up antlered buck show up. Got to practice videoing him. (bucks must be at least 130" to be a shooter and he wasn't anywhere near that). Later a shooter buck ... maybe 135-140" buck came in and hung around for a half hour. He never came closer than 50 yards tho'.
I didn't do too bad filming, and I can honestly say that trying to hunt in front of a camera and film for a hunter is a lot of fun. It sure adds an extra degree of challenge.

I talked with Christine this morning until the cell signal went away again. Sounds like they're having the same problem finding a shooter buck the rest of the teams are.
Good Luck Team HNI!
