Dec. Meeting/Party/Shoot
#1
The end of the year members meeting will be in December.
We will be meetingat Blue Ridge Backwoods Archery shop inMonticello Illinois. (It's fairly centrally located.)
We've narrowed down the dates to the first or second weekend of December. Please let me know if you have a preference for either one.
[The first weekend of Dec is the second shotgun season for deer. The second weekend is muzzleloader season.]
During the meeting we will discussthe tournaments and fun shoots as well as seminars, shows and other events for 2008.
Food and drinks will be available. We will also have access to the archery shop's 3d and technohunt ranges.
For the diehard bowfishers, Clinton Lake is not too far away. It's a power plant lake so the bowfishing is usually great in December.
Please bring yourideas,appetite and bows.

I talked to Debra K. from Blue Ridge about it. She said the techno-hunt (an updated Dart type system), is down. It may not be fixed by the meeting/party. But there's plenty of room in the other ranges.
If you have a preference on which weekend, let us know.
P.S. I hope they have the system up and running. It is cool. To compare it to the dart system is kinda unfair. Kinda like comparing pong to Halo3.

Really? I shot the Dart system before and I thought it was awesome. But I thought Pong was awesome too at one time. That sounds like fun.
We could still have a good time in the range. I'm sure we could think up a few ways to compete with each other.....and subsequently make fun of each other.
Christine, I am exactly 112 miles from your house. So that's about a 2 1/2 hour drive for me, one way. We could car-pool tho. Jason isn't that far from me, and I'm on his way there, sorta. And Mark is sorta on Chris' way. Judd is a little out of the way, but we could all hook up somewhere and come down together. That would be a fun ride.
We just need a vehicle to carry all of us and our bows.

Anybody that is coming from a distance is welcome to stay here at the house.
It's not a very big house, it's old and there's only one bathroom... but it has really nice trim around the kitchen door (thanks Steve).

I'm in too. I've learned a lot by being part of these discussions in the past, and it's always good to see everybody.
I've been wanting to get down to see Blueridge for some time, and I've never shot an electronic archery game before (so I'd get spoiled on the good one right off the bat if it does get fixed in time).
I'm on Judd's way down too (mostly
), so there are all kinds of carpool opportunites from up here.
For the travellers considering staying at Christine and Kendall's place, you should take them up on the offer. Christine is amusing before her morning coffee (in a zombie-ish kind of way). ...and they have more archery stuff to check out in the their place than some small pro shops.
