Where'd fish Go?

Kentucky trip results. Got down there friday night around 9:30 and was on the water around 10PM. Fish were as scarce as hens teeth. KBI-Prez managed to stick an pretty nice long nose gar out of Snuffy's boat. It weighed a little over 12# and was 55 inches long. Cliff, Jake and I managed to shoot 7 fish, buff's, gar, I shot a nice flat head and one big head. We got run off the water around 2 by rain. Slept in the vehicles until time to eat and check into hotel. Went out saturday afternoon, boated 6 more. Seen a lot of really nice grass carp. We crused the river edges. where ever there was a mud bank there were fish. Bill and Snuffy found the same, Bill had a nice big head pull off. Loaded up at 5 went to charge batteries, eat and sleep until dark. Got on the water again and conditions were just perfect. No wind, no clouds, full mood, no fish. We were 3 hours before we landed the first fish which was a buff. Finally around 1:30 Jake got his first shot at a lone big head and nailed it. The fight was on. That fish pulled us all over was under the boat several times, around the motor, then it trashed his reel. So he had to pump reel to get in up close enough for me to get a second arrow in it, and cliff finally gaffed it. It tipped the scales at 42#12 oz. What a nice first fish. He won the big fish pot in the process. I guess Snuffy was too good of a teacher. We called it a night a little after 2. Final talley we landed 18 fish and Snuffy and Bill got 15 for 2 nights a a days' shooting. It was by far the slowest time ever down there.

No joke about the fish vanishing on Saturday night. As best as we could tell there were only about 10 in all of Lake Barkley and of course we couldn't hit those... [
