Okay, Steve calls me on the phone yesterday and starts with the smack talking. He is sooo going to eathis words. ;);)

He's competing in theindividual bracket. I'm going to do the same. I think Chris E will also be there with the Green Bobber.
Kendall may do a solo run with the CIRFCU. We're going to bring up another canoe for Judd if he's game for it.

Anybody else going to shoot it individually? (I'd like to see the Robster up there in his canoe. hint, hint Rob)

I look forward to meeting William and his dad there.

i would like to shoot the individual brackett but my father and i have only one boat so we are going to shoot in the two man team brackett. unless i can get a small boat before then but if not i have no problem shooting with my dad as a team. so good luck to everyone, i still can't wait to meet everyone who is going.

Do you know how long it's been since I paddled a canoe around by myself???

I'm not going to use a troller--- just the paddle/oar things. It may take me the whole tourney to just get across the lake. I mean, I got a blister from pulling weeds the other day... I'm just sooo delicate. (snicker)

So, come on up. I promise not to make a point to capsize you. :D:D

William, yep that lake is actually pretty big. I'm not going to use a motor.. just the poars (oaddles?). I might need a tow across the lake. (and more importantly, a tow back once the canoe is loaded down with all those carp. Ha!)

i just hope that my battery holds up when our boat is loaded down with all the fish my dad and i are going to shoot. ya'll will laugh when you see how low our boat sits in the water with us, our gear, and fish. just ask steve he has seen us out on the des plains. 12 foot boat, sitting low in the water, taking waves from the speed boats. gets a little interesting when the waves get around 1.5 - 2 feet. but we are still planning on meeting everyone there.

I'm wanting to put my 6-horse on that little plastic boat of mine and swamp everybody smaller than me. I think that would behilarious! I'll do circles around Christine. Then I'll pick a jousting bout with Chris and the Bobber. Just have to make sure my push-pole is longer, and I'll need a shield...

Mark's right; I do weigh down his boat. At least that's what I think is happening. He keeps shooting WAY to one side when he shoots at fish. I don't know what I'm doing to make him miss hi and low so much tho....

I was gonna pick at Kendall a little too, but my mom always taught me to respect my elders.

I sure hope Johnny B. and Dr. Rob and Billy anda few more of you southern boys show up. If you guys want to do some more shooting that weekend, we could hit the DesPaines or the Kankakee maybe. I'm going to the Kenny Chesney concert the night of the shoot, so I won't be around then, but I bet Chris and Mark and William will be around shooting something somewhere. And I'll be around the sunday after.

Yeah, see how you guys are.... I'm planning on beating you guys fair and square. Not once have I thought about wiring off a couple of cinder blocks to the bottoms of your boats.. or feeding you lots of sugar free chocolate beforehand. Never crossed my mind. ;)

That was me on Kendall's login posting about the Butter Cow.

It's supposedly a life size cow carved from butter.Really. I've been told repeatedly that I need to see the butter cow.

So it's on my list of 1000 things to do and see before I die. :eek:

Beating Mark, Chris, Judd, Bulz and Kendall at Wonder Lake is on that list too.

The CIRFCU is comin to win this thing. Ha even when I type this I'm thinkin' a WL resident will probably smoke us all. That would be embarrassing. :D

Just to let you know I've been having some steering problems though so if your boat is suddenly run over by a seemingly out of control pontoon boat...no hard feelings.;)

And by the way, I've seen the Butter Cow. My life is complete.

There will probably be several boats with two people. It's usually the toughest brackett.


Pics from today. I went out in the canoe and Kendall in the pontoon. I row in a zigzag pattern. Pretty funny and ugh, are my arms sore. I could stand in the canoe well enough, I'm also short enough that I can paddle while standing. [:-] The challenge was seeing a carp, quietly setting down the paddle, picking up the bow and then still getting a shot. I did get two carp and had one pull off. Then I went back to rowing. I really need to build up some muscles. [&o]


About to ram the pontoon...

Suckersticker, Christine is right (duh), most of the teams at Wonder are 2 man. Last Fall there were only 1 or 2 1 man teams, and only a single 3 man team (well me and 2 women anyway).

How are you shooting with it Kendall? It's got to be a little different from that 70-pounder you usually shoot. 50-pounds, wasn't it? Man, that bow was gorgeous. I should have rescued it when I had the chance...

I hope you can shoot it well cause you're going to need all the help you can get!

I played around in my mom's pond. The pump was off so the water had a lot of floaties in it. Camera focused on the floaties too much. There are different setting depending on what you're taking a picture of. That's great if I can remember to change them. [:-]
