ethan and i are up for anything, we can be there any time you need us. conservation dept. is draining down some of our most productive sites right now and our numbers have dropped off, having a hard time finding fish right now. haven't seen a bighead in 2 weeks. found a decent wading hole today with some huge spotted gar took one around 40 inches long.

We're going to try and get therelate afternoonon Friday.
To the volunteers bringing a boat, tell the folks parking the cars that you are part of the bowfishing booth. You can park the boats in the grass next to our set-up area.
Free lunch is provided to thevolunteers.
I'd like to see somebody bring a fan boat over for display. Slim? Luke?
There will be two stock tanks. (Hopefully the new batch of mechanical fish will get here before I have to leave.)
There will also be some buffalo fishtargets andMathews bows for folks to shoot. We'llhave some retriever set-ups for folks to try too.
Should be a busy day.

Good Luck to all of you Northern guys going to Wonder Lake. Should be a great time. I will be helping out at the other end of the state at Grafton with the DNR Family Fishing Days. To many events and not enough weekends.

I hope you guys going to Grafton have as much fun as we usually do at those type of events.
I know you will do a great job.
Bowfishing practically sells itself, but it always helps to have some organized folks running the show and helping out.
Good luck.

Wow! What a Day. I have to say thanks to Gary Allen, Ethan Harshbarger, Chris and NickCooley, Dave Randolph, Joanne Chandler and Christine A.for helping over one thousand kids get a chance to try Bowfishing. I know we would have had many more volunteers if there weren't at least five other bowfishing events going on at the same time.
Not to mention gas being over $3/ gallon.[:@]
I heard Bulzeye faired well at Wonder Lake. I also hope Mikey had fun at Lake fest. He (Mikey) did a bowfishing seminar there. Sorry we weren't able to help. Keith and Robin were at the MN Carpbusters tourney. I hope everyone had a blast and safe travels.
We were asked to help again next year and already have some ideas as to how we can make things run a bit easier for us. (first thing on my list is a pair of knee pads for working with those little kids. After the first hour and a half I tried to stand up and realized that I almost couldn't walk. We were that busy for the first several hours. Ethan filled in for me and did a fantastic job. Thanks.
Then the rain came and it slowed the kids down a bit. (Notice I said slowed not stopped)

I posted this in another forum but you mentioned kids and bowfishing. This is my daughters first fish that she shot today. Looks like a 24" shortnose. Her name is Sarah and she is 7 1/2 years old. She shot eight times today at some very active gar. I was so proud when she connected with this one. She missed all the other fish by mere inches. Later She came up to me and said that " mom says it's ok for us to go again this week after work". I think she is hooked!

Well, I'm awake now. What a busy day yesterday. Met some really great people. Too bad I only got a couple pictures before the rain hit and had to put the camera away. Kendall, sorry about sending all the short kids to you.
We need a couple more very low-poundage bows for next year. Got some ideas that I'll try to write down after I get more sleep. After helping those kids all day then hitting the Mississippi all night then driving home, I'm not very coherent. Can't wait till next year.
