Default Flooding!

The Illinois River is way up here. Has anyone been out to find some fish stuck in the shallows? I was out yesterday in an area I thought would be sure to hold some fish but didn't see a thing.

That's one of the things I'e learned about bowfishing the Fox: high waters just give the fish more deep areas to hang out. I've killed a lot of carp during flood leels, but not nearly as many as I've shot during the summer months when water levels are low.

Don't have a lot of experience with fishing the floods, but I think I heard it's a good idea to check for trapped fish when the water starts to recede.
