The Illinois Bowfishers will be keeping records of the largest fish taken by our members.

We have a program to recognize outstanding fish shot though out the year.
Entries must be at or above the listed weights. Good Shootin' !

Common carp - 20 lbs
Bighead - 25 lbs
Silver carp - 15 lbs
Grass carp (white amur) - 30 lbs
Carpsuckers (quillback) - 3 lbs
Buffalo - 15 lbs
Spotted gar - 8 lbs
Shortnose gar - 5 lbs
Longnose gar - 10 lbs
Bowfin (grinnel, dogfish) - 4 lbs
Goldfish -any
Redhorse sucker - 3 lbs
Hog sucker - 1 lb

Rules: Must be an Illinois Bowfishers Club member at the time the fish was taken or when record and/or citation is submitted. Fish must be taken in Illinois. Entrant must provide a picture of the fish, measurements along with the signatures of two witnesses and the fish must be weighed on an accurate scale. (a certified scale is even better)

Include a photo, preferably showing the fish near a measurable object. Gar record entries must include an additional clear photo of the gar's head.

I've got my eye on a nice 89 cent fantail.
The one with the biggest bulging eyes wins.

My state grass carp record has been broken by Mark McCleester's 40 pound monster. Some one needs to change the sheet.

That common carp and bighead carp recordare going down this year. I'm surprised that a 22 lb common is still in thelead because most all of us have a 25-30 lbcarp in our past.
